It came to me that the date of someone's birth is used when honoring them, such as Lincoln or Washington, which now has been combined and called President's Day.

My real question is: do people age after they die? Since I do not think they do, I find it odd that people say "Happy Birthday John Lennon" (or whoever) ~ because the person is no longer living on earth.

(My search for the answer as to why people do that, lead me to your blog.)

I guess I understand now why ~ to celebrate the happy memories of dearly departed. Yet, for me, if the guest of honor is not there, it is not actually their birthday party, so I am still finding this odd.
